Researcher and curator. Graduated in Art History from the Universidad de La Habana in 1996, and in 2009 from the Independent Studies Program of the MACBA, Barcelona. She was awarded a research fellowship at the Museo Reina Sofía, Madrid, 2011 - 2013. Between 1999 and 2009, she was adjunct curator and editorial coordinator of TEOR/éTica, San José.

Her curatorial work includes: Playgrounds. Reinventar la plaza (with Manuel J. Borja-Villel and Teresa Velázquez), Museo Reina Sofía, Madrid, 2014; Esa vara. Modernidad y emplazamiento, Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo (MADC), San José, 2012; adjunct curator and coordinator of the 31st Bienal de Pontevedra: Ut(r)ópicos, dedicated to Central America and the Caribbean, directed by Santiago Olmo, Galicia, 2010; Rolando Castellón, Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo, San José, 2007. Together with Virginia Pérez-Ratton she curated Estrecho Dudoso, an international event with six simultaneous exhibitions at various museums, institutions and public spaces in San José, 2006.

Has written numerous essays and texts for catalogues and publications, such as Art Journal, Artefacto, Tercer Texto, ArteContexto, Atlántica, Art Nexus, Bomb Magazine. Participated in the research platform “Península. Procesos coloniales y prácticas artísticas y curatoriales”. Since 2015, she is member of the Red Conceptualismos del Sur. Recently TEOR/éTica has published a selection of her essays in the book Crítica próxima, the first volume of the series "Escrituras Locales: Posiciones Críticas desde Centroamérica, el Caribe y sus Diásporas".
