Jul 2011Vom 4. bis 24. Juli 2011 findet in London das erste Festival zeitgenössischer Kultur der arabischen Welt statt. Es wird unter der Schirmherrschaft des Bürgermeisters unter dem Titel Shubbak: A Window on Contemporary Arab Culture veranstaltet und umfasst über 70 Veranstaltungen an mehr als 30 kulturellen Einrichtungen in der ganzen Stadt.
Shubbak (das arabische Wort für "Fenster") präsentiert ein weit gespanntes Programm der visuellen Künste, Film, Musik, Theater, Tanz, Literatur, Architektur, Lesungen und Diskussionen, viele davon mit freiem Eintritt, ausgerichtet von führenden Kulturorganisationen in London.
