Die Jury der 56. Internationalen Kunstausstellung der Biennale di Venezia bestand aus Naomi Beckwith (USA), Sabine Breitwieser (Österreich), Mario Codognato (Italien), Ranjit Hoskote (Indien), und Yongwoo Lee (Südkorea).

Begründung: "… for forming a pavilion based on a people in diaspora, each artist engaging their specific locality as well as their heritage. The pavilion took the form of a palimpsest, with contemporary positions inserted into a site of historic preservation. In a year that witnesses a significant milestone for the Armenian people, this pavilion marks the resilience of trans-cultural confluence and exchanges."

Adrian Piper

Der Goldene Löwe für den besten Künstler / die beste Künstlerin in der internationalen Ausstellung All the World’s Futures geht an Adrian Piper (* 1948 USA) für ihre Arbeit:
The Probable Trust Registry: The Rules of the Game #1–3
Ausgestellt im Arsenale, Corderie.

Begründung: "A pioneering artist, Piper has reformed conceptual practice to include personal subjectivity—of herself, her audience and the publics in general. Her presentations invite us to engage in a life-long performance of personal responsibility and calls out attention to ephemeral and transitional character of value systems."

Silberner Löwe für einen vielversprechenden jungen Künstler:
Im Heung-Soon

Der Silberne Löwe für einen vielversprechenden jungen Künstler in der internationalen Ausstellung All the World’s Futures geht an Im Heung-Soon (* 1969 South Korea) für sein Werk:
Factory Complex
Ausgestellt im Arsenale, Artiglierie.

Begründung: "… for a moving video work that probes the nature of precarity in relation to the conditions of labor for women across Asia. Factory Complex takes the form of a documentary but with a direct, lightly mediated, encounter with his subjects and their working conditions."

Spezielle Erwähnungen

Die Jury hat auch drei Spezielle Erwähnungen an Künstler in der internationalen Ausstellung All the World’s Futures vergeben:

Harun Farocki
(* 1944 Nový Jičín, Tschechische Republik. + 2014 nahe Berlin.
Werke in der Corderie, Arsenale.)
Begründung: "…a seminal figure in post-war cinema. This presentation makes his entire body of highly influential work accessible to a larger public."

Abounaddara collective
(Gegründet 2010, Syrien/Palästina, leben in Damaskus, Syrien.
Video im Giardino delle Vergini, Arsenale)
Begründung: "Another special mention goes to the incredibly brave Abounaddara collective for documenting the current political strife and human struggle for survival in Syria, without taking sides."

Massinissa Selmani
(* 1980 Algerien. Zecihnungen in der Corderie, Arsenale.)
Begründung: "… for working in a modest medium which has the capacity to act beyond its scale."

Die Jury vergab auch eine Spezielle Erwähnung an die USA für die Präsentation von Joan Jonas, "an artist of significant oeuvre and influence":

Die Preisverleihung der 56. Internationalen Kunstausstellung fand am 9. Mai 2015 in der Ca’ Giustinian statt. Der Vorstand der Biennale di Venezia unter Vorsitz von Paolo Baratta vergab auch einen Goldenen Löwen für das Lebenswerk an El Anatsui (Ghana) und einen Speziellen Goldenen Löwen für Verdienste um die Kunst an Susanne Ghez (USA), beide auf Vorschlag von Okwui Enwezor.
