Inaugurated at the end of 2012, the Remembrance, Peace and Reconciliation Center is a space for the promotion of historical collective memory exercises that would allow the recognition of victims’ rights and the construction of peace towards a culture of democracy and guaranteed human rights.
It was built in areas of the Central Cemetery destined to the Reconciliation park through a process of participation and an architectural competition won by Juan Pablo Ortiz. Thousands of people contributed symbolically with a fistful of dirt and tens of thousands of testimonies.
The three-storey building with a hundred windows on its façade houses an auditorium, a large exhibition hall and several multi-purpose rooms.
