Berlin Biennale 2014: Haus am Waldsee
Built in 1922-23 as a private residence. Since 1946 it is one of the most prominent art institutions of West Berlin. As a temporary venue of the Berlin Biennale it hosts works by 6 participants.

The villa was built for the Jewish textile industrialist Hermann Knobloch in 1922-23, who sold it in 1926 and left Europe for Argentina ten years later. Since 1946 the building hosts an art institution that became quite prominent in the cultural landscape of West Berlin.
