Fragment of a face

Teotihuacan, 0-650 A.D.
Height: 7 cm; width: 4,6 cm; depth: 2 cm
Col. Seler, 1912
ID IV Ca 37176
National Museums in Berlin, Ethnological Museum
The small clay fragment with the swooping lips and remnants of red painting is especially delicately modeled. Judging by its size, it may have been the face in the center of an incense burner of the "theater" type.
