Slag heaps

On the side of the road track

Slag is the waste matter separated from metals during the smelting or refining of ore. Andreas Hauptmann and Gerd Weisgerber from the German Mining Museum at Bochum calculated during their research that in Faynan, up to 200,000 tons of slag was left behind.
