The church with a polygonal apse in the western sector is called the Church of the Aedicula because of a small niche on the southern wall (in the background on the right - see the next page).
Built in the 6th century A.D. on a higher level than the other churches, it was somewhat isolated from the other three churches, and had its own entrance from a double door on the western façade and another door in the southern wall.
The courtyard with the cistern north of the Aedicula Church was reached from the interior of the town through a tunnel which passed below the presbytery of the church.
