The northern section of the caldarium appears nowadays opened to an elongated vaulted space. At its end there was the mouth of the furnace (praefurnium). The lower walls were built with basalt stones (reused elements, some of them brought certainly from Qasr al-Hallabat, retrieved from pre-Umayyad structures.
