The triptych of stills from Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) represents the artist’s programmatic look at evolution, which he understands as an ongoing process of endless repairs. At the same time it works as an examplary reference to the historical, literary, ans scientific figures – next to Kubrick, Bruno Bettelheim, Charles Darwin, Frantz Fanon, Pierre-Joseph Proudhon und Alfred Russel Wallace – who played a role in the construction of Kader Attia’s concepts of "repair" and "reappropriation".
