In Oldham, UK, the scene of recent racial riots, the migrant community is much more settled. The early migrants came over in the late 50's and early 60's, to work on the cotton mills. Most of the mills have now closed, and the workers, with little training to do anything else, are mostly retired. Later generations, like these children, have been born here, and have very different views to their parents and grandparents. These girls are taking photographs at a Bangladeshi wedding. The groom is a local councillor, and chairman of the Bangladesh Association of Oldham. 2003.
